INSPIRATION

Inspiration comes from all forms. The connections we make, the people we meet, and the paths we’re on. We draw from all types of sources, in the end it’s all there is.
For my new year, my new beginning, I loved these pictures and the emotions they gave me to start the year and get ready for spring.

KALIFORNIA BAG IS IN THE HOUSE

Kenzo is hot, there's no doubt about it. Kenzo is just everywhere ......and now the "KALIFORNIA" ,the new it-bag from Kenzo, has finally arrived in Antwerp !!! Yes, (at Renaissance, at Graanmarkt  ..), this luxe and versatile leather bag exudes Kenzo's fresh attitude. The soft, deconstructed design is punctuated by two “K“ zip details flanking either side of the bag that double as pockets, an ode to the ultimate biker’s Perfecto. The hardware proportions of the KENZO metal zipper pulls and 3 snap closure are oversized and immediately recognisable as Kalifornia. Available in multiple colour ways, including biker black and racer red. No time to waste cause it is a limited edition !!! ....... Hollywood is already loving it, Susie Bubble
is loving it ..  and so am I , especially this bright blue/white version that I spotted at their showroom.....

IT'S ALL ABOUT KENZO

It was all about Kenzo in Paris. Curiously waiting for their fashion show....
Carol and Humberto declared " to have been impressed by the ocean, its power, its constant change, its ability to cultivate life and our reliance upon it. Our youth was also marked by the historic underground L.A. music scene and inspired us for our women's collection for Spring/Summer 2014."

That why their women's show, featured geometric and graphic aqua motifs, fish prints ... with overfishing in already crowded marine territories as a key print, trying to bring awareness to the fashion crowd.  They like the idea of fusing classic tailoring with beach living. The theme was water; ocean-like colours and wave shapes took over their spring runway show. The vibe was cool and contemporary (also because of the music) with a focus on pattern play. I love it !

To complement Kenzo’s beach-themed collection, the makeup artist Aaron de Mey used a bright white stripe on the upper lash line to evoke the crests of waves. Simple but beautiful.
