If you want some California dreaming in your living room get  "Locals Only" , new book  by Hugh Holland ( had a booksigning in France at Colette yesterday) with warm, soft toned pictures of the mid-70 's skateboarding revolution in Los Angeles. His art of Skate photography makes me so wanna visit my family in L.A.......

Another hot read is Mary Mc Cartney's ( yep, daughter to sir Paul and sister to Stella) splendid new book
"From where I Stand" with an insight into her private and public life ( fashionshows, rock concerts, theatre, ballet ...) with fab pictures from famous people .



And what about the Belgians ?

Get some inspiration for your interior with Belgian architect Glenn Sestig 's "Cosmopolitan living". Love his residential and commercial projects ( Adidas in Paris, Elvis Pompilio in Paris ..) in modern and minimalistic style . My essential guide to a warm, refined, stylefull interior ! He keeps me moving my furniture around and around .....












Unique talent, Belgian designer Tim Van Steenbergen 's book "Act(e)" is another must have.


Written by fashion journalist Veerle Windells, it  sketches a portrait of the desginer based on her personal conversations with him.  Check out Glamour girl Katy Perry 's latest video " firework" where she's wearing a top from his collection  !!!!!

Kick away your orthopedic looking, boring, lingerie and reboot your underwear drawer. Never think : who sees it ? (You never know: imagine, arriving at the emergencyroom and they have to cut your clothes open and discover your granny's underwear ( my worst fear) ).

Wild thing, you make my heart sing

I am going loco about Academy-award winning actor Javier Bardem who has starred in over two dozen of films. ( He even was a male stripper for one day) . Sexy, soulfull and married to Penélope Cruz, known for his infectious laugh.  Hmm, .... what a nice way to start your weekend !

Some wild chicks anyone ?

 What about rockchick Coco Sumner ? La petite Sting has her own band called "I blame Coco"and has  her awesome own unique style (indie, boho ..). Coco has made music for as long as she can remember
 and calls herself an odd child. I call her a new popsensation ...

 
Style Icon Anna dello Russo rocks ! Fashion at large and creative consultant for Vogue Nippon, wildly popular fashionista, recognized for her unique fearless style and fashion sense, stays famous for collecting and rocking the latest runway looks . Love her for bringing haute couture with her wherever she goes !

Back from NY part 2



More things to do :
Visit one of NY's most beloved and famous bakeries: "Magnolia" (featured on sex and the city), famous for their cupcakes. They are so good that there's allways a line down the block to get in (well worth waiting). They even limit cupcake purchase to 12 per customer because of their popularity !


Go to central park and enjoy a walk or go ice-skating. Maybe, if you're lucky, you'll get to see some hiphop dancers showing off their grooves and moves :

 
Still hungry ? Visit "Eataly" ( at 200 fifth Avenue). This Italian food emporium with branches all over Italy,  offers everything an Italian foodlover could want in meat, cheese, fish, wine, bakery, delicatessen, with other words the greatest of Italian products all in one spot. Must stop food destination in NY.



Wanna lounge ?
We stayed at the meatpacking district boutique "Hotel Gansevoort" with a 45-foot long rooftop pool (with underwaterlights and music) , so no waiting line for us to get to their lounge. Their hip "Plunge" rooftop lounge provides you spectacular views of the big apple. Beware: expensive, outrageously priced cocktails ( in plastic cups, no joke !), luckily we had a sponsor ! We bumped into this sweet Belgian guy Etienne, whom organises parties with guest-DJ's from around the world on wednesdayevening. Plunge was filled with trendy people, an interesting crowd, hoping to see and be seen. We had a blast : booz and great music.  Drinks twice as pricey, but twice as strong ?? Because the morning after .....

Back from NYC


Yes ! I'm back in Antwerp after a fantastic time in NYC . Need some tips ?  The best things to do in NY ?  Omg, there are so many ( you don't need a book for that)  :  Check out the fantastic billboards from American Eagle Outfitters at Times Square



Go shopping and buy cool sneakers



Hungry ?
Stop by at Japanese Brasserie EN ( 435 Hudson street (at Leroy) for contemporary Japanese dining in a gorgeous industrial space decorated with warm woods, antique panels, open kitchen .... We loved the unique dishes and the warm welcome by Reika Yo (  we saw Zac Posen sneaking in ..) , absolutely great food ! No wonder Marc Jacobs mentioned EN as his favorite take out restaurant for lazy sundays .. Please, Reika,  open a restaurant in Antwerp !
